COACHING SERVICES
Where do sessions take place?
We work with folks globally (you can be located ANYWHERE), which is just one of the many advantages of meeting online. We want our offerings to be accessible and comfortable, so we encourage meeting in your favorite spot, in your comfy clothes, with/without your camera on. Another benefit is having creature comforts like snacks, blankets, or your pet on hand is easier!
How is coaching different from therapy?
Coaching differs from therapy in that it focuses on personal growth, goal setting, and practical strategies for moving forward, while therapy traditionally centers on healing past trauma and addressing mental health conditions. At Tacocat Wellness, we blend elements of both, using a therapeutic coaching model that supports healing and growth simultaneously. Our approach integrates trauma-informed practices and somatic tools, working collaboratively to understand how your brain and nervous system function. Unlike therapy, which may involve diagnosing or pathologizing, coaching is more forward-focused, flexible, and rooted in non-clinical, person-centered care that aligns with our abolitionist values. This approach helps us support diverse identities while fostering holistic, person-centered growth.
Do you take insurance?
We do not accept insurance and do not plan to in the future, as it doesn't align with our values or approach to care. Insurance often limits the types of interventions, frequency of support, and session content, focusing more on diagnostic codes than lived experiences. By not accepting insurance, we avoid labeling your trauma or stress responses as disorders, giving us more flexibility in how we work together. Insurance also requires "medical necessity" for mental health services, which can be harmful by suggesting that support is only for those who are unwell. While we don't offer super-bills, we may accept FSA/HSA payments on a case-by-case basis.
What about diagnostics & assessments?
While we have extensive experience with diagnostics and assessments, we no longer offer them as stand-alone services. Instead, we focus on evidence-based conversations around self-identification, self-diagnosis, and previous diagnostic history. When appropriate, we can facilitate and review diagnostic criteria during our sessions. We recognize that formal diagnoses can be validating. Still, we also acknowledge the privileges and barriers—such as medical literacy and financial access—that can make obtaining a diagnosis difficult or inaccessible for some folks.
What are your fees?
We strive to make our services accessible by offering a sliding scale for all coaching sessions, including 1:1, relational, and business coaching. The scale is based on the minimum amount needed for us to operate, with the higher end reflecting our operating costs, experience, and support for our equitable access fund, which provides pro bono services to those in need. We also offer limited equitable access spaces, allowing individuals to receive services pro bono or on a "pay what you can" basis. During consultation calls, we discuss pricing, affordability, and accessibility to ensure our services are within reach.
Relational coaching is available for relationships of up to four members, with additional fees for more significant dynamics.
The sliding scale is $150-250 per 50-minute session

Where did Tacocat come from?
Tacocat started as a silly placeholder name while I searched for something better. As I explored the deeper meaning behind palindromes, I realized it was perfect. Palindromes, which read the same forward and backward, symbolize how we often return to old coping mechanisms when triggered by stressors or trauma—these responses, though once helpful, may no longer serve our well-being. Tacocat reflects our goal of helping folks move away from these patterns and live authentically, aligning with who they feel to be.

We are a small team (it’s me, I’m the we, just one person and sometimes a cat), but we do our best to respond to emails daily, Monday-Friday. Please do not DM us on Instagram (or any other platform) about your order - they will get swallowed whole and won’t help either of us there!
Are any of the profits donated?
Heck, yes, they are! We will release a financial transparency statement annually, which is available and linked here (COMING DECEMBER 2025). As our business grows, we intend to release quarterly financial transparency statements. We select local non-profits, community-based, and individual mutual aid initiatives. We are committed to supporting and advocating for marginalized communities. We proudly stand with the LGBTQIA2S+ community, BIPOC individuals, and the principles of Black Lives Matter, Land Back, and pro-Palestine movements. We believe in harm reduction, are anti-cop, and actively work against systems of oppression. We support disability rights, immigrant rights, women's health, and reproductive justice. Our mission is rooted in equity, liberation, and creating accessible, trauma-informed spaces for all, especially those historically excluded, minimized, and silenced.
Order Processing & Shipping
How long will it take to process my order? Typically, it takes 7-10 days for us to process your order. Once your order is processed, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.
When will my order arrive? Shipping times vary based on location and the shipping method chosen at checkout. Estimated delivery times are 14-21 days after processing.
Do you ship internationally? At this time, we’re limited to North America. We plan to expand to international shipping by October 2025.

Apparel
Our tees, hoodies, and crop tops are made with 100% combed ring-spun cotton or soft cotton-poly blends for extra comfort. Many styles use organic or recycled fibers when available. We prioritize breathable materials that are soft on sensitive skin and durable enough for real life.
Totes
Our tote bags are crafted from 100% certified organic cotton twill, designed to carry heavy loads without weighing you down. Say goodbye to single-use plastic and hello to practical, planet-loving gear.
Stickers
Our stickers are printed on durable vinyl or holographic film. They’re waterproof and weatherproof and made to last through messy bags, water bottles, and everyday chaos. Stick 'em anywhere your feelings need a voice. NOTE: Some holographic stickers are sensitive to extreme weather and may change color as they interact with their environment.
Mugs & Drinkware
Ceramic mugs and stainless steel tumblers are dishwasher-safe and ready for cozy mornings or chaotic Mondays. Most are made with BPA-free materials and designed for longevity.
Stationery
Our notebooks and journals feature smooth, high-quality paper and are often made with FSC-certified or recycled paper. Because your thoughts—and the trees—matter.

Our candles are hand-poured using soy or coconut-soy wax, with lead-free cotton wicks for a clean burn.

Can I request custom designs? At this time, we do not offer custom designs. However, feel free to reach out if you have specific requests or suggestions for future products!
Do you offer different sizes and colors for your products? Yes, we provide a range of sizes and colors. Check each product page for available options.
Returns & Exchanges
What is your return/exchange policy? Since our items are made-to-order, we cannot accept returns or exchanges unless the product is defective or incorrect. If you encounter any issues, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order.
What should I do if I receive a damaged or incorrect item? If your item is damaged or inaccurate, please email us your order number and photos. We will work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
