"Now That’s What I Call… Autism" (A Group for Late-Identified Autistics 21+)

  • (Google Meets) - Held in PST (map)

"Now That’s What I Call… Autism" (A Group for Late-Identified Autistics 21+) is a 6-week group series for newly diagnosed or self-identified autistic adults, grounded in Tacocat Wellness’s somatic, trauma-informed, and abolitionist-aligned model. Meetings are 90 minutes. This group balances processing (grief, identity loss), understanding (brain and body), and reclaiming (joy, autonomy, embodiment), with a strong emphasis on nervous system education, harm reduction, and accessible wellness. Facilitated by Angela Rockwell (they/she), a late-identified autistic, integrated somatic trauma coach.

  • Week 1 : WTF Is Going On With My Brain?
Unpacking late diagnosis, grief, and the relief of finally knowing. Nervous system 101 for autistic folks.

Week 2: Grief, Masking, and the Myth of “Normal”
Exploring identity loss, internalized ableism, and what it means to let the real you surface.

Week 3: Burnout Is Not a Personality Flaw
Understanding autistic burnout, chronic overwhelm, and how to build a life that actually works for your body.

Week 4 : Your Needs Are Real
Sensory mapping, accommodations, and learning to advocate for yourself without apology.

Week 5 : Autistic Joy & Authentic Self
Reclaiming pleasure, play, and passions without performance. What lights you up?

Week 6: We’re Not Broken, We Belong
Moving from isolation to belonging. Community, collective care, and redefining what success looks like.
